The Orient Heights Civic Club was established in 1935 and is located at 956 Saratoga Street in East Boston. James “Jimmy” Mosca has been the president of the club for the past twenty years and is still loving every minute of it. There is a certain satisfaction of being part of a group of lifelong friends, the comradery of it all, the joking, the yelling, and of course the food. No matter what, at the end of the day, when the lights are turned off, the TV screen is blank, everyone leaves as friends, and that we all should take note of.
A social club celebrating 91 years in existence, with most of the members tipping over 70, do the math, how long friendships can and do last. Call it old school, call it anything you like, but the word great has to be in it.
