Nicholas J. Amodeo of East Boston passed away on June 5, 2026 at the age of 70. Born in Boston on October 7, 1955, Nicholas was the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Rita (Casaletto) Amodeo. He was the devoted brother of Frank Amodeo and his wife, Jacqueline of Brockton, Doreen Milito and her husband, John of Saugus, Sandra LaVigueur and her husband, Robert of Winthrop and the late John and Dennis Amodeo. He was the adored uncle of Lauren, Lindsey, John, Danielle, Brooke, Erin, Nicholas and Christopher and is also lovingly survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Affectionately known as “Nicky,” he graduated from Beauty Creators Hair School in Chelsea in 1972, finishing at the top of his class. Within months of graduating, he began building a remarkable career as a hairstylist in the Newton area, quickly earning a reputation as one of the region’s most sought-after professionals. His loyal clientele often waited weeks for an appointment, and among those he proudly served were personalities from Boston’s Channel 5 and Channel 7 news stations.
After an extraordinary 45-year career dedicated to making others feel their best, Nicky retired due to illness.
Nicky was a devoted son whose love and care for his mother never wavered. There was rarely a week that passed without him styling her hair, a tradition he continued until his health no longer allowed him to stand or walk comfortably.
His compassion extended beyond his family to the many animals he cherished throughout his life, especially his beloved cats. Nicky’s kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing Keno, simple pleasures that brought him much happiness. Above all else, Nicky treasured his family. He cared deeply for his siblings and found immense joy in spending time with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He often said that witnessing the birth of his goddaughter, Lauren, was one of the greatest gifts of his life.
During his final months, visits from the youngest members of his family brought him immeasurable comfort and joy, brightening even his most difficult days. Nicky faced his illness with extraordinary courage and determination. Through months of treatments and radiation, he remained brave and focused on living each day to its fullest. His strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who loved him.
Nicky will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest peacefully among the angels until the day they meet again.
