The Blizzard of 2026 brought 65 miles per hour winds and approximately 18 inches of snow to East Boston on Monday. With a snow emergency and parking ban in effect beginning Sunday at 2 p.m., some residents had the unpleasant experience of having their vehicles towed during the storm. In the photo above, a tow truck operator lifts an illegally parked vehicle Sunday night for its journey to a designated municipal lot or tow yard. The Boston Public Schools canceled classes for Monday and Tuesday as Eastie residents dug out from the major storm.
