The City of Boston Age Strong Commission held its East Boston Senior Center Thanksgiving Celebration Thursday, Nov. 20 at the center located at 7 Bayswater St.
Center Director Judith Thermidor welcomed the many guests to the event, noting “the spirit of joy and the spirit of being together” for Thanksgiving. Thermidor thanked Assistant Director Luz Leal and Age Strong Commissioner Emily Shea for their outstanding efforts and Rep. Adrian Madaro “for always being here” at the Center and supporting East Boston seniors.
Thermidor then warmly welcomed Mayor Michelle Wu to the luncheon.
Mayor Wu wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving in advance of the holiday on Nov. 27 and thanked Director Judith Thermidor, Assistant Director Luz Leal, and the team at the Center for hosting the luncheon.
“Thank you so much for making our City such a special place and such a special community,” Wu told the guests in attendance.
In introducing Rep. Madaro, Wu stated, “I am so thankful to my friend, your state representative, and our champion at the State House.”
Madaro told the gathering, “I’m thankful for this community. This community fills me with gratitude each and every day. I feel privileged to represent the best folks in the country here in East Boston. Thank you for giving me this honor and privilege. I love this job as your state rep.”
Madaro thanked the Center’s leadership team of Thermidor and Luz for “a tremendous job building community here.”
A great time was enjoyed by all at the event.
