The East Boston YMCA announced that the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) will return as Presenting Sponsor of the 2025 Reach Out Breakfast, continuing a partnership that has strengthened East Boston families for more than a decade.
Hosted by State Representative Adrian Madaro, this year’s event will be on Friday, October 10, at 7 a.m. at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport, builds on last year’s 25th-anniversary milestone and looks ahead to the next chapter under the theme “25 Years and Beyond.” More than 300 community leaders, partners, and neighbors are expected to celebrate the Y’s impact and raise vital funds for programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
“Massport’s continued leadership makes a tangible difference for East Boston families,” said Joe Gaeta, Executive Director of the East Boston YMCA. “Their renewed commitment as Presenting Sponsor helps us expand access to childcare, teen leadership, and water-safety programs. Together with partners like Massport, we’re building a healthier, more connected community—and ensuring cost is never a barrier.”
Massport’s sponsorship fuels high-impact programs across the neighborhood, including:
• Childcare & Out-of-School Time: Reliable care that supports working families and school success.
• Teen Leadership & Workforce Development: Skill-building, mentorship, and pathways to opportunity.
• Swim Safety & Water Confidence: Year-round lessons at the Mario Umana Academy pool, where thousands of local children have learned to be safer around water—critical in a community that is surrounded by water on nearly all sides.
• The Y’s “90% Initiative”: Keeping programs within reach so that every family can participate regardless of financial barriers.
“At Massport, we are committed to being a good neighbor and creating opportunities in our vibrant surrounding communities,” said Massport CEO Rich Davey. “The East Boston YMCA offers members invaluable experiences by creating space for individuals to thrive. We value our partnership and are thrilled to return as this year’s presenting sponsor.”
Each year, the East Boston YMCA serves more than 5,000 individuals across East Boston and neighboring communities. The Reach Out Breakfast brings together volunteers, donors, elected officials, and partners whose collective support ensures the Y can meet diverse community needs—from swim lessons and youth sports to mental wellness and workforce development.
