The Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) proudly hosted its 12th annual Viva Latinoamérica Student Showcase, a vibrant celebration of Latin American culture and youth artistry.
Over two unforgettable days—Saturday and Sunday, four hours each—more than 110 students, ranging from just 3 years old to accomplished seniors, took the stage in East Boston. The showcase highlighted the rich diversity of Latin America through lively dances, captivating music, heartfelt singing, and stunning visual arts. More than 300 attendees were immersed in the colorful costumes and festive sounds representing countries such as El Salvador, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. Audiences enjoyed the rhythms of salsa, merengue, and Mexican Quebradita, truly experiencing the flavors and traditions of our community.
This event was the culmination of months of dedication and creativity, running from February through May 2025. Students and faculty worked tirelessly to bring each performance and artwork to life, demonstrating their passion and pride in their heritage. A special highlight of the weekend was the live music, beautiful singing, and an electrifying Spanish rock performance by VROCC’s talented faculty band, Los Vrockeros, further showcasing the depth of talent within our community.
We are especially proud of our Youth Program members, who took on leadership roles behind the scenes. These dedicated young leaders managed food catering, coordinated multimedia production, and handled key administrative tasks, ensuring the event’s success and gaining invaluable real-world experience.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers, supportive families, the City of Boston Arts Department, Boston Public Schools, Boston After School & Beyond, Cummings Foundation, The Barr Foundation, Shlomo Fund, Celsius Energy Drink, and our media partners: El Planeta Boston, El Mundo Boston, American News, and East Boston Times.
A big shout out to the entire VROCC community for making this event possible!
