John Parziale begins his seventh season with a record of 37-26. Last year, the Jets had a respectable season, ending at 7-3. New to the coaching staff at East Boston is Tyrone Figueroa. A 2008 graduate of East Boston High, he was a star athlete on the football and basketball team. A graduate of Framingham State, he is also a member of the faculty at East Boston High.
The Thanksgiving Day game this year is the 99th in the rivalry and should be a competitive clash as new coach of South Boston, Brian Vaughn is leading efforts to revive the team, winless in the past several seasons.
