Americo “Rico” Amarosi

Third Order Franciscan Brother

Americo “Rico” Amarosi of East Boston died on June 16.

Rico was a 3rd Order Franciscan Brother who worked and volunteered for many years at the former Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Church, East Boston.

The beloved son of the late Angelo and Rose (Casaletto), he was the loving brother of the late Pasquale “Pat” Amorosi, Joseph Amorosi, Angelo “Sid” Amorosi, Carmela “Dolly” Mueller, Angelina “Ann” Deeb and Joseph Amorosi and is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, corner of Brooks and Paris St., East Boston today, June 19 at 11 a.m.  Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.   In lieu of flowers, donations in Rico’s memory may be made to: Sacred Heart Church, 303 Paris St., East Boston, MA 02128. Anna Marie Rich

Of South Boston

Anna Marie Rich died in South Boston on June 16.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Webster Angus and Margaret (Wadman) Rich; dear sister of the late William W. and Robert Rich; loving aunt of William A, Mary E., John T., Margaret T., and Anne Marie Rich.

Her Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, June 20 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10 a.m. Calling hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Michalina ‘Mickey’ Drago

Longtime Employee of Luberto’s Bakery in Revere

Michalina L. “Mickey” (Mastrangelo) Drago died in East Boston on June 12.

A longtime employee of Luberto’s Bakery in Revere, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Drago; mother of Jo-Ann Hansen and her husband, Richard of Peabody, Patricia DiAngelis, Laura Simons and Joseph Drago, all of East Boston; grandmother of Stacey Simons, Joseph, Melissa and Kristen DiAngelis; sister of Mary Gulinello of Holden and the late Filomena D’India, Pasquale Mastrangelo and Theresa Marino and great-grandmother of Gialisa, Alexander and Xavier.

Her Funeral was held  from the Magrath Funeral Home, 325 Chelsea St. [at Day Sq] East Boston on Monday, June 17 followed by a Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, East Boston. Of Maine, formerly of East Boston

Edward Michetti of Maine, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on June 12.

He was the devoted father of Edward Michetti of Maine; loving son of Edward of California and Anna (DiMarzo) Dagostino of East Boston; cherished nephew of Mary Porcaro and her husband, Frank of Revere and the adored cousin of Francine Perrier of Revere.

Funeral arrangements were by the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., (Orient Heights) East Boston. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life at Sacred Heart Church, Brooks Street concluded with Edward being laid to rest in St. Michael

Joseph R. “Bob” Catanese of West Peabody, formerly of East Boston, died on June 10.

A retired Massachusetts National Guard Master Sergeant, he was the beloved husband of the late Elena R. (Bosco); loving father of Darlene Guarino and her husband, Augie of W. Peabody and Leah Jameson and her husband, Kelly of Saugus; dear brother of the late Anthony  Catanese and is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Daniella and Michael Guarino and Kevin and Melissa Jameson. Albert Parsons

Decorated World War II Veteran

Albert E. Parsons of Sudbury, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully in the company of his loved ones on June 10. He was in his 95th year.

Al arrived in Boston with his parents from Nova Scotia at age eight and resided in East Boston until recently. “Big Al” was a well known and respected figure in his community. While serving in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, he was a tail gunner on the B25 bomber and flew 52 combat missions in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

In his later years Al enjoyed almost daily walks along Revere Beach and especially enjoyed time with his three generations of grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Lightbody); son of the late Robert and Violet May (Phinney) Parsons; father of Albert and his wife, Kathy Parsons of Wausau, IN, Susan (Parsons) Carey of Hudson, Robert and his wife, Marilyn Parsons of Bradford; brother of the late Robert Parsons and Florence Pitts; grandfather of Joseph Winn-Warren, Peggy Szybillo, Coleen O’Neal, Kelly Cuhna, Laura Lizotte, Brian and Michael Parsons and is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren

David Collins

Of Winthrop

David W. Collins died in Winthrop on June 5 after a long illness. He was 57 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Lois (Venezia); father of Erika and her husband, Dennis Screnci Jr. of Peabody and David Collins and his wife, Erin of Arlington; brother of Francis Emmett of East Boston, Edward Collins of Brockton and Thomas Hayward of North Carolina and grandfather of David Patrick Collins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
