There was a little bit of everything for those of us who took the time to watch the Super Bowl Sunday.
For many of us who take an interest in such things, without the Patriots taking the field for battle the game had virtually no meaning.
For those of you who bet on Indianapolis, well, that was a bad bet even with 4 1/2 points.
The only bet worth making, it turned out, was with the Saints.
The advertisements were interesting, and some were funny, but nothing stuck out as fabulous as in years past.
The jail house interview with Plaxico Burress – the National Football League star now serving time for a weapons violation – made for wonderful television, although we’re not sure what it was doing in the Super Bowl mix.
Extravagant, colorful, musical, at once part sports and part theater, it made for a nice program.
