Jets extend their winning streak to six games with a shutout victory over Brighton

The East Boston High School Jets football team extended its winning streak to six with a shutout over Brighton Friday. Eastie pounded Brighton 37-0 while improving to 6-1 on the season.

The Jets’ Brandon Amodeo continued to impress scoring two of Eastie’s six touchdowns.

It seemed to be all over from the start for Brighton as the Jets scored 24 points in the first quarter. Mike Lockley took a handoff from quarterback Troy Williams and ran it in for a 48-yard touchdown. That effort was followed by the first of two Amodeo touchdowns. Amodeo muscled through Brighton’s defensive line for a 1-yard touchdown. Before the end of the quarter, Stanley Greene took a handoff from Williams for a 14-yard run to the end zone.

The jets continued their offensive roll in the second when Stephen Lockwood took a handoff for a 67-yard touchdown run making the score 30-0 at the half.

Brighton’s defense held the Jets throughout the third quarter and Eastie failed to score but Amodeo’s 46-yard run for his second touchdown in the fourth quarter made the score an untouchable 37-0 before game’s end.

Eastie’s next game will be against Boston English High School on Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.
