Known for her easygoing nature, she was loved by all who knew her.
Kathleen F. Hanson was born in Winthrop to the late Catherine E. (Forrest) and Edward J. McKenna. She grew up in East Boston before making her home in Winthrop more than 40 years ago.
Before retiring, Kathleen worked for John Hancock Insurance. She enjoyed reading, boating with her husband, and spending time with family and friends on her front porch. She also treasured lunches with her grammar school friends.
Known for her easygoing nature, Kathleen was loved by all who knew her. Above all, she cherished her children and grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
She was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Hanson, Sr. and the loving mother of Lynne Peppe and her husband, David and Robert J. Hanson, Jr. and cherished grandmother of Nicholas D. Peppe, Justin E. Peppe and Jolee Y. Hanson.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Thursday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at noon. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
