Rita Lotti
Her warmth, sense of humor and big heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her
Rita (Agostini) Lotti, a lifelong resident of East Boston, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born on January 8, 1931, Rita was the devoted daughter of the late Amerigo and Daria (Agostini). She was the beloved wife of the late Americo Lotti, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Rita was a proud and loving mother to Roland Lotti, Paul Lotti and his wife, Lori and Lisa Matarazzo and her husband, Robert. She was predeceased by her cherished son, Robert Lotti. She was also the dear sister of the late Desi and Maria. A devoted grandmother, Rita leaves behind Matthew, Christopher, Elena, Daniel, and Emily, and she was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Evelyn and Silvia.
Rita was known throughout her community as a woman of deep faith and generosity. An active member of the Assembly of God Church in East Boston, she lived her life guided by compassion, humility, and service to others. She was an avid gardener who found joy in nurturing life, both in her garden and in her family.
Rita had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. She loved to cook and took great pride in feeding those around her—no one ever left her home hungry. A hardworking and devoted caretaker, she always put her family first. Her warmth, sense of humor, and big heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, May 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston, followed by a Memorial Prayer Service in the funeral home at 11 a.m.
Services will conclude with Rita being laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Americo and her son, Robert at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
