The Police Activities League (PAL) of Massachusetts, in coordination with AT&T, has donated six new laptops to the Salesian Boys and Glub.
Kimberly Gleason, CEO of PAL of Mass., traveled to the popular club to present the laptops.
“Today we’re giving laptops to the Boys and Girls Club to staff their Homework Room so we can set up the kids for success,” said Gleason.
Salesian members were joyful as Gleason and the Salesian staff opened the boxes and displayed the new HP Laptops with Microsoft Office.
“PAL is just all about making connections with kids and communities, primarily with law enforcement, but also with great organizations like the Salesian Boys and Girls Club that also set up kids to reach their potential by mentoring and workshops,” said Gleason.
“The laptops are courtesy of our relationship with AT&T,” she added.
Gleason also toured the Salesian Club, calling the facility, “a remarkable building,” that bustles with positive and enriching programs.
“It’s wonderful to see everything they’ve done and all the different nooks and crannies that serve the individual interests of each member,” credited Gleason.
Michael Triant, executive director of the Salesian Boys & Girls Club that serves more than 3,000 youths annually, expressed the club’s gratitude to Gleason and her organization.
“We’re so grateful to the Police Activities League,” said Triant. “Ms. Gleason said to me, ‘Mike, I want to help your Homework Room, and all the kids who come here every day and try to get grades and make the honor roll – how can I help them?’
“She said, ‘I’m going to get them six brand new laptop computers that you can keep in the Homework Room, and the kids can use them every day to do all of their work.”
In a beautifully spontaneous display of courtesy and respect immediately following Triant’s remarks, the youths offered in union to Ms. Gleason two words, “Thank you.”
