Cheer on USS Constitution’s Independence Day underway and celebrate our Military Community at the free Huzzah! Salute to Service Block Party! Constitution will depart Charlestown Navy Yard, cruise through Boston Harbor, and pass Fort Independence in South Boston at 11:30 AM for a 21-gun salute! Welcome the ship back to the Navy Yard, and enjoy live music, lawn games, USS Constitution-themed mini-golf, special service projects to honor our military, and much more!

The East Boston Chamber of Commerce flag placing

The East Boston Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) will be placing a display of American flags to commemorate the upcoming Independence Day observed on Thursday, July 4, at the Daniel H Solari Square outside the Chamber of Commerce office at 464 Bremen Street.

In the United States, Independence Day is celebrated on July 4.  It commemorates the day the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation.

Please note that the flags are for display purposes.  If anyone wishes to obtain/purchase a flag, please feel free to contact the Chamber at [email protected].

La Cámara de Comercio de East Boston conmemora el Día de la Independencia de Estados Unidos. 

La Cámara de Comercio de East Boston colocará una exhibición de banderas estadounidenses para conmemorar el próximo Día de la Independencia de Estados Unidos que se observará el Jueves 4 de julio de 2024 en la plaza Daniel H. Solari, frente a la oficina de la Cámara de Comercio en 464 Bremen Street.

En los Estados Unidos, el Día de la Independencia se celebra el 4 de julio para conmemorar el día en que el Congreso Continental aprobó la redacción final de la Declaración de Independencia y el nacimiento de los Estados Unidos de América como nación independiente.

2024 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular

The Boston Pops July 4th Spectacular is slated to take place at the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Esplanade starting at 8:00pm. Keith Lockhart will lead a program featuring the Boston Pops orchestra with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and R&B/soul singer Darlene Love, along with headliner Broadway star Kelli O’Hara (“The King and I”, “Kiss Me Kate”), and the Americana group The Mavericks.  Special guests also include the Singing Sergeants from the United States Air Force Band.

The concert ends at 10:30pm with a fireworks display from 10:30-11pm (subject to change).

City of Boston July 4th Procession

Led by the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, the procession will leave Boston City Hall at 9:00 a.m., stopping to lay wreaths at Granary Burial Ground, and concluding with a reading of the Declaration of Independence at Old State House.

A Day of Unity: Reading Frederick Douglass

Gather to read one of the most iconic American speeches that supported the call for emancipation. 4 Washington Street (across from the Franklin Steps) 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., Downtown Crossing. “What, to the slave, is the Fourth of July” will be read against a backdrop of African drums, dance, and gospel music. There will be a marketplace and a free ice cream social to round out the afternoon.

Learn all about the U.S. Navy through fascinating exhibits and by talking with members

of our Navy at the Navy Week Exp0. 12 – 4:00 p.m., at 2 Christopher Columbus Park.
