Joseph R. Lunetta

Boston Water and Sewer Commission Retiree

Funeral Services were held in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals in Revere for Joseph R. Lunetta, who passed away on March 19th at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness. He was laid to rest with his wife, Patricia, in the Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Stephen and Martina (Coscia) Lunetta, he was raised in East Boston and attended schools there. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Patricia (O’Neil) Lunneta for 52 years until her passing in 2011. The couple were longtime Revere residents.

Joseph worked for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission and his career spanned over 30 years. One of his favorite pastimes was being a collector and he was proud of the vast collection of items he collected over the years, from antiques to baseball cards. He would often frequent flea markets and search near and far for items to add to his collection. He also enjoyed listening to music and one of his favorites was Mario Lanza. Joseph liked to visit local gun clubs and he was also very sociable, enjoying time spent with his family and friends.

The beloved husband of 52 years to the late Patricia (O’Neil) Lunetta, he was the devoted brother of Carmella Karpenko, Marcia Rossi and the late Rachel DiSalvo, Dennis Lunetta and Stephen Lunetta. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews. He also leaves behind his adored feline pal, Norm.

Rita Baglio

February 2, 1929 – March 26, 2024

Family and friends attended visiting hours on Good Friday, March 29th at the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St. Revere for Rita (Pasquantonio) Baglio who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere. She was 95 years old. A Funeral Service took place at the funeral home at 12 Noon immediately followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Rita was born February 2, 1929, the year of the great depression, to her late parents, Angelo and Margaret (Luongo) Pasquantonio. Rita and her sister Blanche were raised and educated in East Boston. Rita attended East Boston High School and married her husband, Salvatore Baglio in 1956. The couple raised their two sons, Anthony and Salvatore in East Boston.

Rita was a loving mother who loved her hometown and took great pride in her home and family. She was a graduate of the Mansfield Beauty Academy and worked as a hairdresser and shop manager. She also enjoyed a 30-year career at MIT in Cambridge in the Food Service Department and as a Student Housing Coordinator.

Rita enjoyed reading and loved music. She also had a beautiful singing voice. Rita embraced her Catholic faith and Easter was her favorite holiday; so it seems appropriate her life was celebrated on Good Friday.

She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Baglio, the loving mother of Anthony Baglio and his wife, Roseanne of Boxford and Salvatore Baglio and his wife, Karen of Marlborough; cherished grandmother of Kristoffer Baglio of Seattle, great grandmother of three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was the dear sister of the late Blanche Pasquantonio.

Katherine Roberto

Dedicated Mom, Grandmother and Sister

Katherine R. (Nalen) Roberto of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on March 28th. She was 82 years old. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Gertrude M. (Marshall) and Anthony W. Nalen.

Katherine was a dedicated mom, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078.

Katherine was the beloved mother of Katherine R. Kneeland (Paul) of Saugus, Laura M. Roper (Larry) of Lynnfield and Toni M. Roberto (Jarred Ciampi) of Wakefield; the adored grandmother of Alex and Jordan Roper, Paul and Christopher Kneeland and Domenic Ciampi and the dear sister of the late George, Louis and Anthony Nalen. Katherine held a special place in her heart for her Godson, Steven Nalen (Diane) of Winthrop.

Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop, Thursday, April 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Please omit flowers.

Jessica D’Alessandro

Of Revere, formerly of East Boston

Jessica D’Alessandro of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on Tuesday, March 19.

The cherished daughter of the late Antonio and Diane (D’Orsi) D’Alessandro, she was the loving mother of the late Janell D’Alessandro, dear sister of Marc A. D’Alessandro and the late Jason, Melanie and Jessica D’Alessandro. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor Jessica’s life by gathering for a Memorial Mass at the Sacred Heart Parish, East Boston on Saturday, April 6th at 12 Noon.
