Marilyn Ford

Longtime Volunteer and Founder of Grace Church Food Pantry

Marilyn A. (Marcella) Ford of East Boston passed peacefully surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Pelham, NH on August 8.

Marilyn was a longtime member of Grace Church Federated and founder of the Grace Church Food Pantry, she was a nanny and second grandmother to Katherine, member of East Boston Kiwanis, longtime volunteer at Boston Medical Center and East Boston PACE program. She made countless blankets that made their way to Boston hospitals and they were distributed to anyone who needed them. Her most favorite job was being a wife, mom and grandma.

The beloved wife of the late Harry T. Ford, she was the mother of Mark A. of Lee, NH, David L. of Newmarket, NH, Dana R. of Weare, NH, Charlotte V. of Pelham, NH and John Paul of Wakefield, NH; sister of Charles J. “Skip” Marcella and Kenneth Marcella, both of East Boston, Mary Beth Osgood of Saugus, Virginia Sprague of Malden. Maureen Sprague of Sterling, Virginia and Karen Giardullo of Saugus and the late Dolores “Dodi” Tennerini, Helen Bono, Richard Marcella, Robert Marcella and Charles B. Marcella.

Marilyn is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Sabrina, Matthew, David Jr., Alyceson, Brittany, Emily, Ryan, Zachary, and Christine; great-grandchildren: Madeline, Olivia and Hendrix, as well as many nieces and nephews, adopted children, grandchildren and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held in Grace Church Federated, 760 Saratoga St., East Boston on Sunday, August 20 at noon. Relatives and friends are invited.
