Robert “Bobby” DiNush

He will be remembered and loved by all who knew him

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere on Monday, August 7, for Robert N. “Bobby” DiNush, who died unexpectedly at his home in Lexington following a two year illness. He was 51-years-old. Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

Bobby was born on March 3, 1972 in Boston to the late Nicholas J. DiNush, Sr. and Joan B. (Marshall) DiNush. He was one of four children. He was raised in East Boston and educated in East Boston Central Catholic School and later East Boston High School.

Bobby’s passion, ever since he was young, was cars. He was especially obsessed with Chevy Chevelle’s and American Muscle Cars. Bobby worked for many years as a mechanic at Doherty’s Garage in Lincoln repairing school buses. He later secured a position at Wind River Environmental and became the Fleet Operations Manager.

During this time Bobby spent the last 23 years with his wife and best friend who he married in 2009, Elizabeth “Liz” Tauber. They resided in Lexington since 2000, where they shared the happiest days of their lives together.

He was a loving husband, caring father and an exceptional brother, uncle and friend to many. Bobby was a man with a huge heart and his bark was always bigger than his bite. He would lend a hand to anyone who needed help and was always someone you could count on.

Bobby’s other baby was his 1967 Chevelle, he was so proud of that car and he enjoyed fixing it, restoring it and he was simply proud of owning it. He also enjoyed camping at One Acres in Raymound, NH, where he has spent time for over 38 years.

He will be remembered and loved by all who knew him.

The beloved husband of Elizabeth A. (Tauber) DiNush of Lexington, he was the loving father of Nicholas R. DiNush of Lexington, US Army Sergeant First Class, Shawn R. Gray of Texas, Amanda C. Jackson and her husband, Dustin of Texas, Deanna DiNush and Brittney DiNush, both of Peabody; the cherished grandfather of Zoe, Harlyn, Arianna and Reece; treasured brother of Joseph DiNush and his wife, Sandra of No. Andover, Nicholas J. DiNush, Jr. of Revere and Joan M.P. DiNush and her companion, Thomas Petrulavage of Revere and the dear son in law of Stephen J. Tauber of Lexington and his late wife Erika Tauber. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his Camp Family at Pine Acres.

Ronald Orlando

Of East Boston

Ronald P. Orlando, 76, of East Boston passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 5.

The beloved husband of Lorraine (Guarino) Orlando, he was the loving son of the late Attilio and Carmella (Cimo) Orlando; devoted father of Deana and her expected daughter, Mariella and her husband, Michael Demodena of Winthrop, Rochelle and her husband, Artie Georgacopoulos of Canton and Ronald Orlando of East Boston; cherished grandfather of George and Attilio; dear brother of Joseph Orlando, Carol Larsen, Michael Orlando and his wife, Robin and Paula Orlando. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will honor Ronald’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston, today,  Wednesday, August 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday morning at 9:30 before leaving in procession to Saint Joseph – Saint Lazarus Church, East Boston, for a Funeral Mass celebrating Ronald’s life at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with Ronald being laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Vincent Basile

Dedicated public servant, accomplished scholar, and beloved member of the community

Vincent “Vinnie” D. Basile, a dedicated public servant, accomplished scholar, and beloved member of the community, passed away on August 1. He leaves behind a profound legacy of unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. 

Born on January 26, 1940 in Winthrop, Vinnie spent most of his life in his beloved East Boston before moving to Stoneham in 1981. He demonstrated his passion for service from an early age. He excelled academically, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Government from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1962 and a Master’s degree in Sociology/Criminology from Northeastern University in 1971. Throughout his life, Vincent remained devoted to learning and continued his education through graduate studies in Law, Business, and Social Work. 

Vinnie’s career spanned various fields, and he touched many lives in his roles. He served as a Probation Officer at the Boston Municipal Court from 1966 to 1981, rising to the position of Chief Probation Officer. Later, he held leadership positions in the Massachusetts Office of the Commissioner of Probation and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, making a significant impact through his work on a Re-entry Program and Recidivism studies. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vincent was deeply involved in public service and community organizations. He served on Governor Romney’s Commission on Criminal Justice Innovations and the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Corrections and contributed to youth services, child support enforcement, and numerous civic associations. 

Vincent Basile’s commitment to education extended beyond his own studies. He served as an adjunct faculty member at several colleges, sharing his expertise in Criminology, Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice, leaving a lasting impact on countless students.

Vincent’s life was a symphony of goodness, known for his generosity and willingness to help others. He supported numerous community organizations and he also served on the Board of East Boston Savings Bank, now known as Rockland Trust. 

He had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met, genuinely interested in their lives. His love for God, his country, his family, his church, and his cigars were evident to all who knew him. 

Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sherid P. Basile, who he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage with on August 5. He spoke lovingly of Sherid and cherished her love and companionship every day. He is survived by his loving children: Jennifer Jenkins, Matthew Basile and Susan Otis and his grandchildren: Jake and Miles Jenkins, Skyla Holmes, Nicholas, Sadie and Madison Basile, brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linnea and James Westberg and Greg and Kathleen Peterson, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Family and friends honored Vinnie’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. East Boston on Sunday, August 6 and a Funeral Mass in celebration of Vinnie’s life was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Parish in Stoneham on Monday, August 7. Services concluded with Vinnie being laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Stoneham.
