John Cotter

Retired Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff and Medical Sales Rep.

John Cotter of East Boston, formerly of Quincy, died on June 1.

The beloved son of the late John J. and Lillian M. (Mendoza) Cotter, John was a very proud U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 1st Marine Division. He was an accomplished medical sales representative and retired deputy sheriff in the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. John leaves behind relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St. Revere on Thursday, June 15 beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph / St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Angiolina Pizzicannella

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

Angiolina (LaVita) Pizzicannella of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, passed away on June 13 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Mirabella, Italy and was the wife of the late Remo Pizzicannella., loving mother of Maria Pizzicannella, Luigi Pizzicannella and his wife, Christine and Valentina “Tina” Pizzicannella, all of Winthrop; cherished Nonni of Kristina Pizzicannella-Murphy and her husband, Daniel of Winthrop; “Old Nonna” of Dominic and Giuliana Pizzicannella-Murphy of Winthrop; dear sister of Josie Cimildoro and her late husband, Frank of Milton, Michael LaVita  of New Hampshire and his late former wife, Carol, the late Janice Scalcione and her surviving husband, Jack of East Boston, and Luigi LaVita and his surviving wife, Kathy of Peabody. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St., Boston. Complimentary valet parking attendants at front door.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 17 at 10 a.m. in St. John The Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St, Winthrop.  Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
