VROCC To Hold End of the Season Showcase

The Verónica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) invites the community to enjoy the cultural showcase entitled “Viva Latinoamerica ‘’. The event will take place at the Excel Academy 375 de Bremen Street, East Boston from 5 to 8 PM.   

The entire VROCC family will come together to share with the community the work they have been doing during the February – June 2023 course. During this showcase you will have the opportunity to enjoy the final work of VROCC Mariachi program held at Umana Academy after school, an art exhibit by the art students, the ballet class and lively dances and music from several countries of Latin America. 

In addition to the general showcase on Saturday, June 17th, there will be a Piano recital on June 20, 7:30 PM; the Premiere of the Spanish Play will be held on Saturday, July 15th. The last two events will take place at Veronica Robles Cultural Center. 

A contribution of $5 per adult is suggested to support fundraising efforts to purchase clothing and materials needed for performances at community events during the summer and fall. 

VROCC currently provides culturally responsive programming to more than 200 children and youth between the ages of 3 and 19; programs for adults include the Spanish-language theater group “Teatreros de Maskachusetts”, which meets on Thursdays from 6 to 8 PM at the police station; Zumba classes are offered on Fridays at 7:30PM. VROCC also employs 15 community members that include art, music, and dance teachers, administrative staff, and youth from the community. During the summer VROCC offers a cultural camp from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and extended cultural programming until 3 PM. VROCC also offers a youth leadership and entrepreneurship program for youth.
