Diane Lennon-Blasetti

Food Industry Retiree

Diane M. Lennon-Blasetti, 80, of Brockton passed away on Friday, May 12th, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston.

Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George and Louise (Mirabello) Lennon. Diane worked for many years in the food service industry. She lived for a time in Florida before returning to Massachusetts in 2022 and settling in Brockton.

Diane loved her grandchildren very much and always sent them home from visits with big bags of candy. She also enjoyed watching “The Price Is Right,” spending evenings playing cribbage and cards with friends and doing crossword puzzles.

Diane was the devoted mother of Joseph Blasetti and his wife, Donna of Medford and Cathy Blasetti of Fruitland Park, Florida and her partner, Ray Marrero. She was the loving grandmother of Brittany Blasetti, Lauren Blasetti, John Blasetti, Russel Boughner Jr. and the late Joseph Blasetti Jr.; the dear sister of George “Rusty” Lennon and his late wife Karen, Thomas Lennon and his wife Joyce, Kenneth Lennon and his wife Elsa, Roberta Moscato and her husband Joseph, and Doreen Doddy and her husband Brian. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge Diane’s best friend Brenda (Remick-Blasetti), they had a wonderful friendship that was built on love, trust and respect for each other. We are so very grateful that these two women had such a beautiful friendship and were able to have the time to make many happy memories.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Friday, May 26 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and are encouraged to arrive at church prior to the 10 a.m. start of Mass. Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted. Services will conclude with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.

Beloved Family Matriach

Jennie (Staffier) Garufo of East Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 16.

Jennie will be remembered for her love and commitment to family. She was the matriarch of the family. Living in East Boston throughout her life, Jennie will always be remembered for opening her home to all. She left everyone with a full heart and full belly. Everyone will miss her dearly.

Jennie was the loving wife of the late Carmello Garufo. She was the daughter of Louisa and Emillio Staffier; the beloved sister to eight siblings. She was a loving mother to her children: Linda Camerano and her husband, Peter of West Roxbury, Carl Garufo and his partner, Tony Brownstein of Hyannis, Janet Ikonomopoulos and her late husband, Kostas of Peabody, James Garufo and his wife, Elizabeth of Winthrop, Stephen Garufo and his wife, Karen of Palm Harbor, and Denise MacMillan and her husband, Jay of Revere. She is survived by her grandchildren: Kristen Jasset, Adrienne Camerano, Joseph Camiolo, Angela Koziski, Amanda Ikonos, Cal and Regina Garufo, James MacMillan, Stephen, Peter, Anna and Gabriel Garufo. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Her funeral service was held on Tuesday , May 23rd, at St Joseph and St Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St, East. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd Waltham MA 02452.
