Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Sen. Lydia Edwards, and Rep. Adrian Madaro, and Massport CEO Lisa Wieland joined East Boston Little League President Nick Free and the league’s officers, players, coaches, and families for Opening Day ceremonies Saturday at Festa Field.


In her remarks, Mayor Wu pledged her support for improving youth sports programs across the City of Boston. Wu thanked EBLL officials for their leadership and guidance of Little League Baseball in East Boston and presented a box of new baseballs to the league.
Nick Free is beginning his first season as president. He commended past president Chucky Cassaro and treasurer Dr. Robert Gilbride for their tremendous efforts in leading the East Boston Little League for the past decade.
