Route 1A Corridor Study Working Group Public Meeting

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing a virtual public meeting of a Working Group on Wednesday, October 20, at 4:00 p.m. in regard to a study which is assessing the potential uses of the MassDOT and MBTA rail parcels located between Route 1A and the Chelsea Creek in East Boston and along the Route 1A corridor between Bell Circle in Revere and Day Square in East Boston. The study will identify opportunities to improve connections for people walking, bicycling, and using public transportation and will also address safety issues and the potential impacts of climate change.

At the virtual meeting on Wednesday, October 20, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., the project team will present an overview of the study, including the purpose, need, and schedule. Working Group members will be asked to provide input on potential goals and objectives for the study.   The Working Group represents neighborhood organizations, advocacy and environmental groups, municipalities and some Commonwealth of Massachusetts departments.

Members of the public are invited to join by registering via Zoom.  The first Public Information Meeting on the study will be held in December.

More information about the study can be found on the project website at https://www.mass.gov/route-1a-corridor-study.  The study team encourages members of the public to sign up to receive project information.
