Edwards Is On The Mark
Dear Editor:
As a retired police officer of 28 years who retired in 2013, i thought City Councilor Lydia Edwards was right on point in her recent commentary ( Progressives too, can back the blue, June 22).
Edwards is right that in today’s hostile atmosphere filled with righteous emotion sometimes does highlight the worse of every issue and pushes all of us into opposite corners in some kind of boxing match. As she states and I wholly agree, “Life isn’t black or white…in order to move forward from this moment together, we need to learn how to have tough conversations…about the changes (needed) to see and working to make those happen.”
We are all Americans and we should always have more in common than what separates us. We can emerge stronger together.
