Aquino tapped to present at National Mentoring Summit

Chelsea Aquino, Senior Manager of Government Relations and Public Policy at Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP)  in Boston, has been selected to present at the 10th Annual National Mentoring Summit in Washington, D.C. on January 29-31.  Aquino will be leading a workshop on “Asset Mapping,” which is an advocacy tactic that relies on an organization’s own network to find connections to legislators. She will also be training attendees on the importance of storytelling in communicating the powerful impact of  mentoring on young people.

In her position at MMP, Aquino develops and manages the organization’s policy efforts and advocacy campaigns, maintains relationships with state and local agencies, and constructs approaches for driving public financial resources to the field.

The National Mentoring and Youth Development Summit is the only national convening of youth mentoring professionals, researchers, MENTOR Affiliates, philanthropic investors, and government and civic leaders aimed at collectively strengthening and expanding quality mentoring relationships for young people across the country. Aquino will be collaborating with MENTOR’s Advocacy Team and the Congressional Management Foundation to train an estimated 400 workshop attendees.
