Suspect in Custody After Warrant Leads to the Recovery of Loaded Firearm and Drugs

Officers assigned to the District B-3 Mattapan Drug Control Unit made a drug bust in Eastie.

According to police a little after 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, officers arrested Carlique President, 32, of Mattapan, on firearm and drug-related charges in the area of 290 William McClellan Highway in Eastie.

The officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the suspect in Dorchester District Court as part of an ongoing drug distribution investigation.

The officers observed the suspect as he was operating a motor vehicle, at which time they performed a traffic stop. The officers then secured the suspect and conducted their search, which led to the recovery of a loaded .45 caliber Ruger SR45 handgun, as well as several small bags of crack cocaine from inside the vehicle. The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs and Possession of Class B Drugs.
