Dorothy (DiOrio) Papa of East Boston passed away on Dec. 18 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.
The beloved wife of the late Vincent Papa, she was the devoted mother of Diana Deeran, Linda Scalfani and her late husband, Buster, Vincent Papa Jr. and his wife, Hildy, John Papa and his wife, Joan, and Dorothy DiMille and her husband, John; dear sister of Ruth Vosolo, William DiOrio and the late Rose Marie DiSisto, Angelo DiOrio, Anthony “Bunny” DiOrio, Joseph DiOrio and Mary Tirone. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many loving and adored great and great-great grandchildren and cherished nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor Dorothy’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., East Boston on Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday morning at 8:30 before leaving in procession to St. Joseph – St. Lazarus Church 59 Ashley St., East Boston for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in celebration of Dorothy’s life. Services will conclude with Dorothy being laid to rest beside her beloved Vincent at Holy Cross Cemetery. For more information, visit ruggieromh.com
