Wanted:Suspect ID’d in Connection with Maverick Station Shooting

On Monday,  Transit Police detectives released the name and photo of the suspect being sought in the double shooting at Maverick MBTA station last Tuesday afternoon.

Police have launched a manhunt for Rogelio Alvarado, 21, of East Boston and executed  search warrants Monday at 55 White St. and 70 Graves Ave. in Revere in connection with the shooting.

Alvarado has been charged for Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and multiple Firearm violations.

Both warrants that were executed Monday did not turn up Alvarado and he should be considered armed and dangerous until in police custody.

On Tuesday, January 19 police responded to Maverick station shorty before 3 p.m. after reports of a shooting.

Police arrived to find two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

According to police, the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. One victim may have had previous ties with the suspect while police confirmed Monday that the second victim was an innocent bystander waiting on the MBTA platform when the shooting took place.

According to witnesses there was a scuffle on the train followed by the shooting.

The shooting caused the Maverick station to be closed right before the rush hour commute and buses were brought in to shuttle riders between Maverick and Boston.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Alvarado please contact TPD Detectives at 617-222-1050, or send an anonymous text tip to 873873 or our use our SeeSay app.

Again, Alvarado should be considered Armed and Dangerous and you are asked to call the TPD at 617-222-1212 or 911 if you believe you see and/or encounter ALVARADO.
