East Boston High School Baseball off to a Strong Start

The East Boston High School baseball team, under the direction of head coach Cory Giberti, is off to a strong start, winning five of its first seven games.

The Jets are 5-0 against Boston City League opponents, besting Latin Academy, Madison Park, Boston International, O’Bryant, and New Mission. The losses are to Malden and Saugus.

The Jets’ preseason was hampered by the record-breaking snowfall of this past winter, but they are now back on a regular schedule of outdoor practices and games. The Jets play their home games on artificial turf at East Boston Stadium.

Coach Giberti is a former baseball star at Savio Prep and was an assistant on Phil Brangiforte’s Eastie baseball staff before becoming the Jets’ varsity head coach.
