Kids Make a Big Splash for save the Harbor/Save the Bay

Splash1On Friday, August 8th, 752 youth and teens from East Boston and nine other youth groups from Boston’s neighborhoods and surrounding communities took part in Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s 4th Annual Kids Beach Bash and Splash at the BCYF Curley Recreation Center at M Street Beach in South Boston.

Among the groups participating in the event were the East Boston YMCA, BCYF Curley Community Center – South Boston, Braintree After School Enrichment – Braintree, Castle Square Youth Education Program – South End, Curtis Hall Community Center – Jamaica Plain, , Greenwood Shalom – Dorchester, Home for Little Wanderers – Boston, Jackson Mann Summer Program – Brighton, South Boston Boys and Girls Club – South Boston, Tynan Fun in the Sun – South Boston.

Splash2“It’s great to see so many kids from across the city on the beach and in the water,” said Save the Harbor’s Director of Strategy, Communications and Programs. “What a great way to celebrate the success of the Boston Harbor Clean-up, which has made these beaches among the cleanest urban beaches in America and among the most popular beaches in the region.
