Mary Jane Foster

Of East Boston, Formerly of Revere

Mary Jane Foster of East Boston, formerly of Revere, died December 14. She was 47 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, the daughter of Mary (Martin) Foster of N. Andover and Edmund B. Foster of Revere, she attended Revere Public Schools and was a member of the Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps of Revere. She enjoyed volunteer work and her favorite pastime was reading.

She is survived by her fiancee, Bill J. Burgess of East Boston; her children Tabitha Foster of Lynn, Matt Foster and Robert Foster of Derry, NH and Jesse D. Burgess of East Boston; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Terri Bova of Georgetown, April Gagnon of N. Andover and Herb Foster of South Carolina.

Arrangements were by Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham.

David Green

Of Revere

David W. Green of Revere died on December 16. He was 53 years old.

A US Army veteran, he was the devoted son of the late Charles Green, Jean (Viola) and Raymond Scarino; dear brother of Cheryl Green-Vargas, Charles Green and Kenneth Green, all of Revere; loving uncle of Tiffany and Chloe; fond nephew of Philip Viola, Marie Graziano and her late husband, William and Eddie and Lucille Abate. He also leaves many other loving relatives and friends.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, December 23 from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., East Boston at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of David’s life in the Immaculate Conception Church, Beach Street, Revere at 10: a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Brenda Scales

Pre-School Teacher

Brenda (Mills) Scales of Framingham, formerly of East Boston, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 16. She was 52 years old.

A pre-school teacher, she was the beloved wife of Richard Scales with whom she shared 17 years of marriage; loving mother of a 12 year old son, Christopher; dear sister of Yvonne Saggese and her husband, Armond of Malden and Anthony Mills of East Boston and the cherished daughter of the late Benjamin and Dolores ( Mazzarella ) Mills.

Family and friends will honor Brenda’s life by gathering Saturday December 28, in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach Street, Revere at noon to 2 p.m. with a service in our chapel of the resurrection at 2 p.m. Committal will be at a later date. Of Winthrop

Dominic Torchetti of Winthrop died on December 20.

The devoted father of Ann Cerato and her husband, Gregg of New Hampshire, Linda Silvestro and her husband, Mark of Rowley and Nancy Marshall of Florida, he was the dear brother of Dolly Paciotti and Rachel D’Eramo, both of Melrose, and the late John Torchetti; cherished grandfather of Mark, Christopher, Kara and Shannon.

Helen Terranova of Revere, formerly East Boston, passed away on December 20.

A homemaker, she was the cherished daughter of the late Carmello and MIchelina ( Princepato) Terranova; dear sister of Josephine Terranova of East Boston and James Terranova of Revere and the late Natalie DeAmelio, Mary Miraglia, Jennie Scandora, Thomas, Carl, Frances and John Terranova and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Salvatrice Passanisi

Seamstress for Priscilla’s of Boston

Salvatrice (Bellinvia) Passanisi of East Boston, formerly of Boston’s West End, died on December 17 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Salvatrice was the late seamstress for Priscilla’s of Boston and was most proud of her U.S. Citizenship.

She was the beloved wife of the late Domenico Passanisi; loving mother of Julia Passanisi of Newburyport and her late husband, Brian Griffiths, Rita Passanisi and her husband, David Janda and Donna Passanisi Sordello, all of Saugus; mother in law of David Sordello of New Hampshire; dear sister of nine siblings who remain in Italy; cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Family and friends honored Salvatrice’s life by gathering at a Funeral Mass on December 20 in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, East Boston. Interment was at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
