Ruth Esther Dunne

Lifelong East Boston Resident

Ruth Esther (Clingen) Dunne, a lifelong East Boston resident, died at her home on September 19. She was in her 101st year.

The beloved wife of the late Harry Dunne, she was the mother of Lillian Misiaszek, Walter Stephen Dunne, Norma Rivers and the late Robert H. Dunne; the grandmother of 10 and the great-grandmother of 24.

Rita Turino

Seamstress, Anna DeFronzo Senior Center Member and Foster Grandmother

Rita M. (Sirignano) Turino of East Boston died peacefully in the company of her loving family at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday evening. She was 87 years old.

Rita worked as a stitcher throughout her life and took great joy in serving as a foster grandparent in East Boston and also enjoyed many friendships as a member of the Anna DeFronzo Senior Center.

A loving mother, she raised two daughters by herself and dedicated her life to

them. She leaves her daughters, Theresa and Linda Turino, the proprietors of Two Sisters Antiques Shop in West Medford. She was a devoted sister to Carmen Sirignano of the North End and the late Pellegrino, Joseph, Louis, Albert and Arthur Sirignano. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and was well loved by toy poodle, Gucci. Her caregivers who became extended family and have the gratitude of Rita’s daughters are: Atenas Suarez, Cidelianne Moliere, Hanane Chamkhi, Maria Jjuko and Marthe Philemond.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

John Giuffre

50-Year owner and operated of the

Do-DROP-In Restaurant of Boston

John J. Giuffre, a long time resident of Beachmont Revere, died on Saturday, September 21 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere. He was 94 years old.

Born in Boston’s North End, he moved to Beachmont Revere more than 60 years ago. For more than 50 years he owned and operated the Do-DROP-In Restaurant of Boston. John was also a truck driver and a member of Local #25.

He was the husband of the late Helen (Cullen) and the devoted and cherished father of John H. Giuffre, Peter Giuffre and his wife, Joanne and Cynthia LaBointe, all of Revere; the dear brother of Raymond Giuffre of Revere and the late Leah Clifford and the loving grandfather of Nicholas R. and Peter Giuffre, Renee and Juliette LaBointe, all of Revere.

His funeral will be conducted from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere today, Wednesday, September 25 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach Street and Winthrop Avenue) Revere at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.For more information, visit: www.vertuccioandsmith.com
