Charles ‘Chickie’ Femia

Of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn

Charles S. “Chickie” Femia of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn, died on August 11.

He was the husband of Jane Ellingwood Femia; father of Charles S. Femia Jr. and his wife, Diane of Derry, NH, and the late Jayne Femia; grandfather of David and Daniel Femia, both of Derry, NH, Denise Quintiliani and her husband, Daniel, of Lynn, Danielle Marquis-Roy and her husband, Robert of Beverly and the late Robert Marquis; great grandfather of Madalaine and Gabrielle, brother of Joseph Femia of Saugus and Marion Femia of Orient Heights and uncle of many nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pius V Church. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Antonina Bini

Antonina (Lanza) Bini of East Boston died on August 11. She was in her 101st year.

The beloved wife of the late Dillio Bini, she was the loving mother of Theresa Vecchione of Peabody, Frank Cioffi and his wife, Betty of New Hampshire and Richard DiPrimo and his wife, Linda of Tewksbury; dear sister of the late Richard, James, Frank, and Joseph Lanza; cherished grandmother of Steve Cioffi and Jason Jeffrey DiPrimo and great-grandmother of Michael Cioffi.

Ralph Hinricks

East Boston Resident

Ralph R. Hinricks of East Boston, formerly of Hingham, died unexpectedly at home on May 18. He was 64 years old.

A US Army Vietnam Veteran, he was the son of the late Ralph of New Hampshire and the late Mildred (Critch) Merithew of California and is survived by his sister Helen Drudi of Carver, MA, and Michael Hinricks of Petal, MS. He was the brother of the late Stephen Hinricks of California.

Joseph ‘Mike’ Byrne

Longtime Respiratory Therapist at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center

Joseph M. “Mike” Byrne died suddenly at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett on August 8. He was only 59 years old.

‘Mike’ was born in Malden on September 24, 1952 to the late Joseph and Patricia (Convery) Byrne. He was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School in 1970, Dean Jr. College and North Shore Community College with a degree in respiratory therapy. Mr. Byrne worked as a respiratory therapist at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center for many years. An avid golfer, he was a former member of the Beverly Golf Club. But most of all he was wonderful and caring son, brother and uncle who will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

He was the loving son of the late Joseph and Patricia (Convery) Byrne; devoted brother of Juliana M. Lemp of Newbury, Maria Hutchings, Patrice Wharem and her husband, Dave Dutil and Timothy G. Byrne, all of New Hampshire and Vincent R. Byrne and his wife, Joanne of Saugus and the caring and very close friend of Lyn Sweesey. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews.

Irene Norwood

40-Year Waitress at Hawthorne Restaurant in Lynn

Irene (Pambookjian) Norwood of Revere died on August 9. She was 87 years old.

Born in Philadelphia and a waitress at the Hawthorne Restaurant in Lynn for 40 years, she was the devoted mother of Roberta Lee Clifford of Revere and her fiancé, Albert Facda of East Boston, Gerald Norwood and his wife, Kathy of Brockton and James Norwood and his late wife, Camille of Revere; cherished grandmother of Renee, Haley, Michelle, Lisa, Mark, Renee and the late Christopher.

Agostino ‘Musty’ Belmonte

US Postal Service Retiree, A Founding Member of Mowanna Bocce League of Revere

Agostino J. “Musty” Belmonte died after a brief illness at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on August 9. He was 91 years old.

“Musty” was born in Boston on September 18, 1920 to the late Agostino and Clorinda (Gaeta) Belmonte. He was raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School. A US Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre and was part of the first response medical team after the US liberation of the concentration camps.

He lived in Revere for most of his life before moving to Melrose in 1988. Mr. Belmonte worked as an administrator for the US Post Office in the South Boston Postal Annex, retiring in 1984. He had a wonderful life that was centered around his family. He was a founding member of the Mowanna bocce league in Revere, which has endured for almost four decades and was still an active player. Agostino was also a very active member of his condominium association, serving on the board for many years and was a former member of St. Anthony’s Church in Revere, where he was the treasurer for the band for several years.

Mr. Belmonte was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Pagliarulo) Belmonte; loving father of Susan Chavanne and her husband, Marc of Melrose and Linda Johnston and her husband, Daniel of Norfolk; brother of Anna Lionetta and her husband, Joseph of Arlington, Mary Tutrone of Andover and John Belmonte and his wife, Gloria of Saugus; brother-in-law of Theresa Pagliarulo of Revere; grandfather of Laura Chavanne, Ryan Johnston, David Chavanne, Kaylin Groenheide and Julie Chavanne and is also survived by two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph J. Correale of East Boston died on July 25.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth ( Morton) Correale with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; loving father of Ruth Anne Pavlis and her husband, Ari of East Boston, Robert Correale and his wife, Rose of Peabody and the late Ralph C. and David J. Correale; dear brother of Anthony Correale, Dorothy Gobiel and Carmela Calvino, all of Peabody, Phyllis Curtis of New Hampshire, Marie Goldspring of East Boston and the late Domenic Correale and the cherished grandfather of Ariana Pavlis, Peter Pavlis and Robert and Ryan Correale.

Costanzo “Chris” Cacchiotti of East Boston died on August 5.
