Hoop Jets Hit Stride, Now at 7-3

The East Boston High School boys’ basketball team has won three of their last four games to improve to 7-3 on the season.

First the Jets took on Barnstable in a non-league match at home. In a tight game Eastie was able to squeak out a win 60-57 over the Red Raiders. With that win the Jets record for the season improved to 5-2.

Next Eastie easily cruised by Snowden 80-68 in another home court win to improve to 6-2 on the season.

Eastie recorded its only loss against unranked North Andover since going on a streak since beating Madison Park 61-59 in a Boston City League game.

The Jets fell 52-43 to the Scarlet Knights and dropped to 6-3 on the season.

Playing at North Andover Eastie held a 27-20 lead going into the half but the Scarlet Knights went on an 11-3 run in the early part of the second half.

North Andover held a close lead over Eastie 39-38 going into the fourth quarter and finished the game with a 6-0 run to end the game.

However, Eastie bounced back with a 58-45 win against Somerville last week.

Eastie will face Latin Academy in a League game this week before ending the season against St. John’s Prep and then Weymouth.
