Nicholas Simonelli

Longtime owner of Everett retail market

Nicholas L.  Simonelli of Everett died at home on October 15.  He was 82 years old.

Born in East Boston and a longtime resident of Everett, he was a businessman who owned a retail market on Ferry Street at Cottage St in Everett for many years. He was a member of the Malden Moose #1910 and the Medford Lodge of Elks #915.

He was the beloved husband of Ines T. (DeFeo); son of the late Jenny and Arthur Simonelli; dear and devoted father of Nicholas M. and his wife, Mary of Brewster, NY, John P. and his wife, Adrienne of Carlsbad, CA, Michele Emmert and her husband, Virgil of Lewisville, TX and Joanne Holmes and her husband, Jack of Durham, ME; brother of the late Connie Sestito, Alfred, Carmen and Peter Simonelli; loving grandfather of Jennifer Kayne and her husband, Jonathan, Steven, Asia, Aden and Skye Simonelli, Meriah  and Anthony Emmert and Sam Holmes and great-grandfather of Alexandra and Kiva.

His Funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St.  (Corner of Main Street) Everett, today, Wednesday, at   9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett, at  10 a.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the Immaculate Conception Church “Building Fund”, 489 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149, would be sincerely appreciated.

Frederick Ricciardelli

Of New York City and East Boston 

Frederick A. Ricciardelli of New York City and East Boston died on October 15.

A US Navy veteran, he was the beloved son of the late Giovannina (Mongiello) and Anthony Ricciardelli; dear Brother of Anna Mullins and her husband, Dick of Bedford, Anthony E. of East Boston and the late G. Joseph and John E. Ricciardelli and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

East Boston Resident

Julia (Petrillo) Theriault of East Boston died on October 14. She was 78 years old.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Pasquale and Vincenza “Jenny” (DeLuca) Petrillo; loving sister of Patty Petrillo of East Boston, Rita Buonopane of East Boston and her late husband, Michael, and the late Lucille Montello and Pasquale “Pat” Petrillo Jr. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

East Boston resident

Jesus A. Galeano of East Boston, formerly of Colombia, died on October 14 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 83 years old.

Born in Colombia and the retired proprietor of a retail store there, he was the beloved husband of Bertha Molina for more than 57 years; dear and devoted father of Carlos, Oscar, Jesus, Juan, Jairo, Robert, Olga, Bertha and Adriana Galeano.

Bertie Siple

East Boston resident

Bertie P. (MacRae) Siple of East Boston died on October 10.

She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Siple; loving mother of Mickey Kellum and his wife, Linda of Malden; cherished grandmother of John Jr., Jessica and Marc; great-grandmother of Kacey.

Katherine “Kay”LaMonica, formerly of East Boston, died on October 11. She was 88 years old.

She was the wife of the late Rosario “Cougie” LaMonica; beloved mother of Roseann DeMarco, Ralph “Brodi” Rizzuti, John LaMonica, Rosario LaMonica, Janice Rorick and Dennis LaMonica; cherished grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 24 and great-great-grandmother of two.

Funeral arrangements were the Rapino Memorial Home, East Boston. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Theresa Kowalski

Retired buyer

Theresa D. (Ippolitto) Kowalski of Tewksbury, formerly East Boston, died October 10. She was 81 years old.

A retired buyer for D.R.C. Co. in Andover, she was one of seven children of Francis and Grace Ippolitto and the beloved mother of Theresa Russo of Tewksbury, Deborah Kowalski of Concord, and Mary Ann Carlson and her husband, Glenn of Tewksbury; grandmother of John Russo, Christian Lillyman, Nicole Lillyman, Cassandra Carlson, Jenna Carlson; great grandmother of John Nicholas Porto and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her six siblings.

Frank Martorano

Car Salesman, Patriot Civic Club Member

Frank T, Martorano of Revere died unexpectedly following a brief illness at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston on October 8. He was 69 years old.

Born in Boston’s North End, he attended school and lived there and in East Boston. For the past 15 years, he has been a resident of Revere. Before his retirement, he was an automobile salesman for many years and a longtime active member of the Patriot’s Civic Club.

He was the husband of Ellen R. (Lagorio); devoted father of Jessica R. and Jodi R. Martorano, both of Revere, Frank Martorano of Salem, Nicola and Vincenza Martorano, both of Everett and the late Frank T. Martorano Jr. of Antoinette “Netta” Chiampa and her late husband, Roger R. of Revere, Lucille Perry and Joseph Martorano of California. He was the dear uncle to Anthony Squillante and his wife, Jodi, of Pelham, NH, Flora and Albert Squillante, both of Revere, Sandra Campagna and her husband, Edward, Carolyn Rapposa and her husband, Richard, and Stephanie Cupp, all of California. He is also lovingly survived by many grand nieces and grand nephews, two grandchildren and cousins.
