David ‘Davie’ Carrozza

David “Davie” Carrozza of East Boston died on October 8.

A late member of the Allied Craftsmen Union Local #3 and a US Navy veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Arline C. (Goulart) ) Carrozza with whom he shared 46 years of marriage; loving father of Marline Porix of East Boston, Donna Rego and her husband, James of Florida and Eleanor Partee and her husband, Timothy of Middleton and Debra Carrozza Fernandes of East Boston; dear brother of Mildred Rodriguez of Revere, Frances DiPlacido of Florida, Nicholas Carrozza of Wilmington and the late Sandra Russo, Lena Incerto,, Bridget Pisano, Meco, Leo, Ralph, John “Panco” and Enrico “Eastigo” Carrozza; cherished grandfather of Monique Nestor, Nicholas and John Mastromarino, Timothy and Lianna Partee and great grandfather of four.

Gloria Manning 

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

Gloria J. (Giannoccaro) Manning of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on October 9.

The beloved wife of the late William F. Manning, she was the loving mother of Robert Manning and his wife, Elizabeth of Winthrop, Craig Manning and his wife, Karen of North Carolina, David Manning and his wife, Leslie of New Hampshire and Keith Manning of Saugus; cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren; dear sister of Lola Mayo of Winthrop and the late Florence, Antonio, Romeo and John Giannoccaro, Lillian Danna, Josephine Ryder and Ann Graves.

Her Funeral will be from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave, Saugus on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St, Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. John Michael Kretas 

Florida resident

John Michael Kretas of Jacksonville, Florida died on October 3 at Baptist Medical Center South. He was 62 years old.

He was born on July 29, 1949 in Boston to John and Leanora (D’Ambrosio) Kretas and proudly served in the US Army with the Special Forces. He attended the First Assembly of God in Orange Park and  enjoyed sailing, golfing, and walking the beaches with his loving wife, Daisy Kretas, who survives him.

Additional survivors include his children: John Michael Kretas, Jr., Laurie Anne Kretas, Amy Danielle Kretas (Richard Higgins) and Matthew Robert Kretas (Melanie); his mother, Leanora Kretas; his brothers, George A. Kretas (Maria); and Paul R. Kretas (Elaine); his grandchildren, Sarah, Jacy, Sarena and Ava Kretas and Leah and Sullivan Higgins; and his step sons, Zachary and Patrick Huffman. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kretas.

Graveside Funeral Services were held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. Kimberly D. (Orchard) Ferraro of Everett, formerly of Revere, died on October 6.

The cherished daughter of the late Alfred and Roberta (Mugford) Orchard, she was the loving sister of Robert Orchard of North Carolina, George Orchard of New Hampshire, and Kristin Orchard of Medford and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Louise H. ( Brackett) Vignoli of East Boston died on October 8.

A late employee of the US Postal Service C F S Unit, she was the beloved wife of more than 60 years to Paul J Vignoli, Sr., the devoted mother of Paul J. Jr. of East Boston, Ellen Vignoli, Jeanne McCaldon and her husband, David, Laura Paladino and her husband, John, all of Melrose; dear sister of Robert A Brackett of Belmont; cherished Nana of Allison, Gianna, Emma, Mia, Zachary and Anthony. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston today, Wednesday, October 12 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life in St Joseph St Lazarus Church, Ashley Street, East Boston at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Vincenzo Coluccio 

Former Proprietor of Vincent’s Barber Shop in Arlington

Vincenzo “Vincent” Coluccio of Saugus, formerly of East Boston and Revere, died on October 8 surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old.

The former proprietor of Vincent’s Barber Shop in Arlington, he was the beloved husband of Rosa (Palermo) Coluccio with whom he shared 48 years of marriage; loving father of Rocco Coluccio and his wife, Gayle and Teresina Fazzolari and her husband, Frank, all of Saugus; cherished son of the late Rocco and Maria (Mesiti) Coluccio; dear brother of Domenico, Cosimo and Gino Coluccio of Italy and the late Giuseppe Coluccio; adored grandfather of Vincenzo, Joseph and Anthony Fazzolari and Nicole and Vincent Coluccio, his sisters in law, Lina Fazzolari and her husband, Vincenzo, Marianna Palermo and her late husband, Vincenzo, Adele Scrivo and her husband, Salvatore, Pasquale Palermo and Adolfo Palermo and his wife, Darsie and many other relatives, nieces, nephews, dear friends and long-time customers.

Joseph Raymond Benitez, Sr. of East Boston died on October 5.

A US Army Sergeant Major who served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War; he received two Bronze Medals and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.

The beloved son of the late Ramon Benitez and Mercedes Mordaunt, he was the loving husband of Margaret (Panto) Benitez, treasured father of Joseph Raymond Benitez, Jr of East Boston and the late Mercedes Anne Benitez; precious grandfather of Brittany Marie Forlizzi and Christina Lynn Kjersgard and dear brother of the late Fielicity Ventura and Mildred Hicks. He is also survived by his loving nephew Pierce J. Power.
