Basketball team coasts past Wareham
The East Boston High School boys basketball team has improved to 4-3 on the season with a 79-53 over Wareham Saturday.
Senior Walter Lewis had a game high 18 points to lead the Jets.
This was the Jets’ third win in a row. Eastie beat Madison Park 65-62 at home on January 6. Eastie’s Jeff Amazan scored 25 points in that game against number 2 Madison Park.
A week later the Jets narrowly beat Weymouth 69-67.
The three game win streak comes on the heels of a three game losing streak where Eastie fell to Charlestown 76-68, St. John’s Prep 67-51 and Franklin 57-53 after winning the season opener against Latin Academy 68-43. In that game Amazan had 27 points and senior Stanley Winn added 16 points.
Amazan has been a standout scorer so far this year for Eastie.
The Jet’s will take on rivals Charlestown Tuesday, February 1 at home hoping to avenge their loss earlier this season.

The Jets took a 7-2 beating by Trinity at home. The loss was the eighth straight loss for Eastie since beating O’Bryant 10-3 back on December 19.
