James Pittman

East Boston resident

James O. Pittman of East Boston died on July 1.

He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Mass Army National Guard, 126 Signal Battalion, Chelsea.

He was the beloved husband of Frances M. (Rogers) Pittman; loving father of James M. Pittman and his wife, Robin, of Hot Springs, AR.; cherished grandfather of Sara and Michelle; dear brother of William Pittman of Hot Springs, AR, Anna Lavagnino of Herndon,VA, Laura Starnes of Hot Springs, AR, Juanita "Nita" Garnder of Vista, CA, the late Ronald Pittman, Louise Medley, and Melinda Weston. He is also survived by many loving friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara Piso

Of Beverly, formerly of East Boston

Barbara M. (Morgan) Piso of Beverly, formerly of the North End and East Boston, died on July 3.

She was the beloved wife of Peter R. Piso; loving mother of Peter B. Piso of Saugus and Dante C. Piso and his wife, Tina M., Quintiliani of Saugus; cherished grandmother of Peter D. Piso, Reena F. Piso, and Reno D. Piso; dear sister of Laura Baptista of Chelmsford, Eileen Pouliot of Chelmsford, and Lillian Jirard of Weymouth. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Joseph Janiak Jr.

Of Revere, formerly of Chelsea

Joseph J. Janiak Jr. of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, died on July 1. He was 78 years old.

A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a Mass. Industrial Hardware Supply of Chelsea retiree.

He was the beloved husband of 46 years of Celia A. (Corso); devoted father of Kimberly A. Silveria and Roy Olszewski and cherished grandfather of Alyssa N. Silveria, all of Revere; dear brother of Josephine Lyons of Coulter, PA, Walter Janiak of Chelsea, and the late Stanley Janiak. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere today, Wednesday, July 7 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

East Boston and Chelsea resident

Grace R. (Ciampa) Mangiafico of East Boston and Chelsea died on June 23.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sibby-Nano Mangiafico with whom she shared 58 years of marriage; loving mother of Maria Mangiafico of East Boston, Richard "Rickey" Mangiafico of Medford and the late Paul Mangiafico; dear sister of Theresa Brutza of Medford, Joseph and Carmine Ciampa of East Boston, James of Revere and the late Caroline DiBiase, John, Ralph and Fred Ciampa; cherished grandmother of Steven, Richard and Jamie Siraco, Tiffany Mangiafico and great grandmother of Ava Grace Siraco; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ruth B. (Powers) Zarella of Melrose died on July 1.

She was the wife of Americo W. Zarella; mother of William A. Zarella of East Boston and David K. Zarella and his wife, Lillian, of Melrose; grandmother of Marcie Zarella and Daniel Zarella and his wife, Renee, all of Melrose; great grandmother of Joseph, Matthew and Anthony.

Letteria Albano

Delta Airlines Employee

Letteria M. "Letty" (Barresi) Albano died on June 28 at the Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Methuen. She was 63 years old.

Born in Boston, she resided in East Boston prior to moving to Winthrop 22 years ago. She was an employee of Delta Airlines for 36 years.

The beloved wife of Felix "Phil" Albano Jr., she was the loving daughter of Frances "Chickie" (Caruso) and the late Ignazio V. "Ernie" Barresi of East Boston, dear stepmother of Felix "Phil" III and Shari Albano of New Jersey and Melissa and Sean Dolen of Winthrop, loving grandmother of Jordyn Albano, Jake Albano and Sean Dolen. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Daisy Accomando

Owned Marshelle’s Salon De Coiffures

Daisy (Carroll) Accomando died on June 29.

Known as ‘Micky’ to friends and family, she was a lifelong resident of Boston. She was raised in Jamaica Plain and moved to East Boston when she married and where she resided for the last 62 years. She attended Regis College in Weston and was the owner and operator of "Marshelle’s Salon De Coiffures," a hairstyling salon in Chelsea for more than 40 years.

She was the wife of the late Nicholas A. Accomando of East Boston and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Nicholas A. Accomando and Maria E. Accomando of Hingham, three grandchildren, Jaclyn Accomando Jorgenson of Hanover, Nicholas A. Accomando, Esq. of South Boston and JenniferM. Accomando of Hingham, and a great grandchild Rosalind Maria Jorgenson of Hanover. She is also survived by cousins as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private service was held for the family at Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Roslindale, where she was buried alongside her late husband. Joseph ‘Buddy’ Famolare

Of Melrose, formerly of East Boston

Joseph D "Buddy" Famolare of Melrose, formerly of East Boston, died on June 30.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a past member of the Beachmont VFW, Sons of Italy Sempre Avante Lodge, East Boston, Courageous Generation St Lazarus Parish and a devoted parishioner and usher at St. Lazarus Parish for many years.

He was the beloved husband of more than 61 Years of Helen (Comunale)Famolare; devoted father of Elena Weeks and her husband, Stephen, of Florida and Susan Fugere and her husband, Philippe, of Wilmington; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Jason, Nicole and Paul; adored great grandfather of Alexandra, Megan and Victoria.

Wakefield resident

Thomas L. Alfieri of Wakefield, formerly of East Boston, died by accident on June 27.

A graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 2004, he was involved with playing Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Fishing and Snowboarding.

The cherished son of Thomas L. and Diane (Krzywicki) Alfieri of Wakefield, he was the loving grandson of Ann (Toczylowski) Krzywicki of Wakefield and the late Stanley Krzywicki and the late Thomas and Rose (Emma) Alfieri; nephew to Patricia Bryant and her husband, Raymond, of Ashburnham, Mark Krzywicki and his wife, Tricia, of Rhode Island and the late Richard Buzun and his wife, Joanne Buzun, of Georgia and many cousins.
