MFCF Announces Hosting Events for Families in Need

Special to the Times-Free Press

The Madaro Family Community Fund’s (MFCF) annual holiday programs, the Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Eastie’s Elves, are returning to an in-person format for the first time in two years. Each year, MFCF has supplied hundreds of meals and donated thousands of toys through the Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Eastie’s Elves events. The Madaro Family Community Fund hopes to spread joy throughout the holidays, and looks forward to bringing neighbors and friends back together in 2022.

The Thanksgiving Day Dinner will supply hundreds of sit-down, carry-out, and delivery Thanksgiving meals to local families in need at the Salesian Boys & Girls Club. Additional program details can be found on the Madaro Family Community Fund’s website at www.madarocharity.org.

The non-profit is continuing its community-wide toy drive in honor of the 19th annual Eastie’s Elves. The toy drive will host collection boxes throughout the community from November 26 to December 8. The current drop-off locations are listed below. The toy drive will conclude with a return to the highly anticipated in-person Eastie’s Elves celebration at the Hyatt Regency on December 9th, where all are welcome. Admission to the celebration is one unwrapped children’s toy.

“Thank you to all of the businesses, organizations, supporters, and volunteers who make it possible for us to provide Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gifts to families in our community,” says Ariel Madaro, Director of the Madaro Family Community Fund. “After the hardships we all experienced these past few years due to COVID-19, we are grateful for this opportunity to celebrate the holidays in-person again with our neighbors and friends. We look forward to continuing our tradition of spreading cheer and uplifting our neighbors during the holiday season.”
