EAST BOSTON “K” TRUST ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
The East Boston “K” Trust is now accepting college scholarship applications from qualified high school seniors. Applications are accepted from all seniors who are East Boston residents (one year minimum) regardless of where they attend high school. The only residency exception is for seniors who are members of the Key Club of East Boston High School. Scholarships are awarded to students based on scholastic achievement, community involvement and financial need.
Applications with complete instructions are available at all area high schools (please see guidance counselor for an application*).
All applications must be completed and submitted by Thursday March 29 to:

Applicants will be interviewed at Spinelli’s in East Boston on Tuesday April 10, at 5:30 p.m.
Scholarship winners will be honored during a special East Boston Kiwanis and East Boston “K” Trust Scholarship Dinner on Tuesday, April 24, at 5:30pm at Spinelli’s in East Boston.
Dinner cost is $25 per person and RSVP’s are required. *Applications are also available at the EB Social Centers, Room 103, at 68 Central Square

Amulet and Good Luck Charm Workshop
Wednesday, March 14, at 3:30 p.m.
We will be creating small wearable bags of amulets and good luck charms. Materials will be provided. However, if you have a special trinket or charm of your own, bring it along and we can help you incorporate it into a wearable piece. You are also welcome to add small notes of intention or inspirational quotes.

Boston Public Library’s free homework help underway
Boston Public Library’s free Homework Help program began and runs through May 24, 2018, offering free afterschool help and mentorship provided by high-achieving high school students at most BPL locations across the city. The program, offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30 -5:30 p.m. is open to students in grades K-8; no registration required. Boston Teacher’s Union (BTU) tutors are also available during select weekdays from 4-6 p.m. for students in Grades K-12. Visit www.bpl.org/homework for complete information. Most homework help mentors and program participants are Boston Public Schools students, though it is open to all, and BTU tutors are either current or retired Boston Public Schools teachers.
Tech goes home
Tech Goes Home is a computer based program with the goal of ensure that all low-come residents of Greater Boston are equipped with the tools, training, and access to support 21st-century skills development. The TGH program offers resident the ability to improve their quality of life as new member of the online community.
