Thank You for Making East Boston Shine
To the Editor,
The East Boston Holiday Lighting committee would like to thank the following for the financial support and commitment to making East Boston shine during Christmas and New Year. Within three months our group rallied up and raised money to complete the project in such a short time.
The money raised helped pay to decorate Maverick, Central, Day and Orient Heights Squares. Our first year proved to be successful yet as always with anything new we discovered a few challenges which we quickly resolved with the help of the City of Boston and Evermore Electric.
We especially would like to thank State Representative Adrian Madaro who quickly jumped on board and made things happen to ensure our community was beautifully decorated, welcoming to all and full of holiday cheer.
Gratitude to the East Boston Foundation for their generous grant of $10,000. We thank groups such as the East Boston Chamber of Commerce and East Boston Main Streets for their efforts and partnership and for the businesses in our community who decorated their storefronts.
We also reached out to Massport and MassDot and appreciate them, for doing their part to add to holiday festivities. Special Acknowledgement to Cappuccio Construction and Cora Operations Inc for taking on the wreath portion of the project by purchasing and installing 50 beautiful wreaths throughout our squares.
Big thank you to those who purchased raffles and to Jet Blue for donating round trip tickets and Joe Ruggiero who donated Boston Celtics tickets. We look forward to your support and partnership next year as we ramp up our efforts in 2024
