Mexican Community and Mexican Culture Lovers in Boston Shout out, “Viva Mexico!”

Behind the Verónica Robles Cultural Center on Border Street over 2,000 people gather together to celebrate Mexican Independence Day during a free event for all.

The Consulate General of Mexico in Boston and Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) hosted this amazing event where everyone where everyone enjoy delicious tacos, margaritas, micheladas, folkloric dances by VROCC dancing stars, the Ballet Folklorico Guadalupo and Northeastern University students.

People also danced to the music of DJ Tavo, and sang along with the Mariachi Youth of VROCC. Veronica Robles, who was accompanied by her full Mariachi band joined in with the youth and Mexican opera singer Edgard Ricaud.

The event included activities such as lottery rounds (Mexican Bingo), piñata, arts and crafts and Mexican products’ vendors; of course the civic ceremony of the traditional “Grito de Independencia: Viva Mexico” by the Consul General of Mexico in Boston, Alberto Fierro, accompanied by the Bautista family, who escorted the Mexican Flag.
