Recently family and friends gathered at Suffolk Downs Race Track in East Boston to remember and honor a friend to all, Sam Tassone, who passed away in March of 2019. Tassone worked at Boston City Hall for many years and was respected by his co-workers. Sammy supported many organizations in East Boston, professional as well as local, and political causes. He was a long time season ticket holder for both, the Boston Bruins and Red Sox, and always found a cause to donate his seats to benefit as a donation.
So how fitting it was that he family and friends gathered at Suffolk Downs, to enjoy a day of racing and comradely, swapping stories and memories of their dear friend, Sam “Sammy” Tassone. He will be long remembered and honored for his tireless dedication to his community and friends of East Boston.
