Columbus Day Parade a Great Event

The 2014 Columbus Day Celebration and Parade is all set for this Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 and General Chairman Albert “Buddy” Mangini and his organizing committee have planned a superb event for the enjoyment of our residents.

The parade honoring Christopher Columbus on the anniversary of his arrival in the Americas is always a festive occasion with the bands, floats, and local dignitaries making it a “must-see” attraction for people of all ages.

Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh is the honorary chief marshal of this year’s parade while Francisco A. Urena, commissioner of Veterans Services for the City of Boston, is the chief marshal.

We welcome this opportunity to thank Buddy Mangini, Civic Chairman Joseph L. Ruggiero, Parade Coordinator Bill Chisholm, Veteran of the Year Award recipient George Gambale, Community Liaison Sheri Raftery, Secretary Rosalie Petralia for continuing this great tradition of paying tribute to Christopher Columbus in Eastie and organization another fantastic parade and all the events associated with observance of the holiday.
