Dr. Gene Sharp in our midst is a wonderful find.
Inside an unassuming apartment in the neighborhood, he runs one of the most prominent information centers on how to overthrow oppressive regimes.
What he runs is called the Albert Einstein Institute for Non-Violent Struggles.
It is believed by other scholars that his work has been significantly influential in aiding those who have succeeded in tossing Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak from power.
More to the point, the wave of revolutions sweeping other nations in the Middle East are also a credit to his work.
How ironic that revolutions so far away and against dictators so entrenched, come with intellectual aid from the writings taking shape and form by a man in an apartment in East Boston?
Beautiful stuff, really.
