Two Suspects in Custody as a Result of Ongoing BPD Human Trafficking Investigation

An outstanding warrant out of East Boston District Court led to arrrest of a Rhode Island man last week on human trafficking charges.

On Friday, June 18 a joint operation involving the Boston Police, the Arlington Police and the FBI arrested Kayleigh Santos, 32, of Providence, RI, in the area of 811 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston.

Santos was placed in custody without incident pursuant to an outstanding warrant sought out of East Boston District Court on charges of Human Trafficking and Deriving Support from Prostitution stemming from an ongoing investigation of human trafficking in the area.

The ongoing investigation invlolved the Boston Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit, the BPD Crimes Against Children Unit in coordination with members of the Arlington Police Department and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.

During the booking process, officers recovered four plastic bags of powdered heroin as well as a container of unidentified orange pills which will result in additional charges for Santos.

He was arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court.

A second suspect, Marquis Campbell, 29, of Hyde Park, was also arrested as part of the investigation at 3699 Washington Street in Jamaica Plain. The suspect was placed under arrest without incident pursuant to an arrest warrant issued out of Boston Municipal Court on charges of Human Trafficking.

Campbell was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
