The East Boston boys’ track and field team was dominant last Wednesday at the Reggie Lewis Center and captured the Boston Public Schools Indoor Track and Field City League Championship title. The Jets scored 107 points during the two-day championship meet. Eastie had three first-place and six second-place finishes. Jets coach, Garcia Dalzon, was named North Coach of the Year following the meet and told reporters he was ‘very proud’ of the team’s achievements both on and off the track. Eastie was able to edge out Brighton, who scored 85 points and O’Bryant, who scored 39 points, to capture the title. Track captain, senior, Joel Pastrana won the long-jump with a 21′ 10″ jump and came in second-place in the 55-meter dash. He was named the Male Athlete of the Meet.
