Margaret Lopilato

Of Winthrop, Formerly of East Boston

Margaret ( Luongo) Lopilato of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, passed away December 14 at the East Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea. She was in her 94th year.

A housewife, Margaret was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church’s Mothers Club.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Tio” Lopilato with whom she shared 59 years of marriage, the loving mother of Catherine Sinnott and her husband, Myles of Winthrop; dear sister of the late Pasquale Luongo; cherished grandmother of Anthony and Lisa Sinnott and Margaret Sinnott and great grandmother of Nicole and the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor Margaret’s life by gathering today, Wednesday, December 18, from 4 to 8 PM in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home and again at 10 a.m.Thursday morning before leaving in procession to St John’s the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Of East Boston

Gerald M. Zelandi of East Boston passed away on December 11 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (Ducey) Zelandi; loving brother of Robert R. Zelandi and his wife, Eda of East Boston; dear stepfather of Thomas Hayward of Brockton and Timothy Hayward of Texas and is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Frank J. Puleio, Jr. of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died on December 12.

He was the beloved husband of Marie (Berrio) Puleio; loving son of the late Frank J. Puleio, Sr. and Marie J. (Lamonica) Puleio; cherished brother of Marie Golini and her husband, Joseph of Middleton; special uncle of Matthew Golini, Steve and Eric Lizano, Santiago Berrio and Isaac Caceres and is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a very special friend and companion to his dog, Luciano.

Augusto Sapone of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on December 11 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Nelida L. (Curbelo); loving father of Monica Napoli and her husband, Frank of Saugus and Fernando Sapone of Revere and is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Jessica, Sabrina, Amanda and Katerina Napoli.

He was the beloved husband of Jane (D’Amico) Cassaro; loving father of Marie Cassaro of East Boston, Annette Kuhs and her husband, Kevin of Dracut, Andrea McEachern and her husband, Brian of East Boston, Jane Mastrangelo and her husband, John of Peabody, Donna Greco and her partner, David Hayes of Peabody and Charles Cassaro and his wife, Christina of East Boston; dear brother of Grace Cassaro of Medford and Marie Angela Milazzo of Somerville; cherished grandfather of Jayde, CJ, Marcus, Austin, Anthony, Corey, Derek, Vincenzo and Sabrina and her husband, Steve.

Ann King

40-Year Employee of Former Jordan Marsh Co.

Ann L. (Nickerson) King of East Boston died on December 14 after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia.

A 40 year employee of the former Jordan Marsh Co., she was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. King; devoted mother of Daniel J. King and his wife, Donna of Lynn, Steven King and James “Spanky” King; dear sister of Margie McGilvery and her late husband, Donald, Dorothy Rose and her husband, Al, Mary Majchrzak and her husband, Henry, John Nickerson and his wife, Jackie and Mike Nickerson; cherished grandmother of Janelle, Lauren and Courtney and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., East Boston today, Wednesday, at 8:45 a.m. before leaving in procession to the Most Holy Redeemer Church, 72 Maverick St. (Maverick Square) East Boston at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with Ann being laid to rest with her beloved husband, Edward in Woodlawn Cemetery.
