A Well Deserved Tribute: Presentation by Vets to Rep. Basile is a Fitting Recognition of His Fine Work

The presentation by the Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Association to State Representative Carlo Basile as the group’s Legislator of the Year last week for his work for veterans across the state was a well deserved honor.

Rep. Basile’s efforts on behalf of our veterans have been second to none. His bill to provide financial aid to wounded vets to enable them to modify their homes to meet their physical needs is one of the most worthy pieces of legislation we have seen in a long time.

However, the welfare of our veterans is not the only area where Rep. Basile has gone above and beyond the call of duty. He has been very active in helping others in many other ways, ranging from his work on behalf of the Thanksgiving dinner with Fr. Wayne Belshner at Sacred Heart Parish to his legislation that helped facilitate the construction of the new East Boston branch of the Boston Public Library.

It is unquestioned that his constituents have been the beneficiary of Rep. Basile’s commitment to his community. We are glad to see that his work on behalf of so many others across the Commonwealth is now being recognized by an organization such as the Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Assoc.
