With two weeks remaining, EBYC has secured the #1 seed in the EBMHL playoffs and the Regular Season crown. As the remaining 6 teams jockey for position you can be sure that it is going to come down to the wire. With the #1 seed the EBYC have secured a frst round bye in the first round of the playoffs. The playoff schedule will be available next week.
Two weeks remain in the EBMHL regular season and the intensity levels are up as we approach the EBMHL Playoffs. The past week brought Eastie some of the finest hockey it has seen all year long and is sure to remain this way straight to the championship as these 7 teams vie for the EBMHL Gold Cup, won last season by Woody’s Liquor’s.In game 1 of the evening, a near upset, as Sound Decision gave it all they had vs. league powerhouse East Boston Yacht Club. Goalies Chris Grossmann and Nicky Rossi were amazing throughout the game making many key stops to keep the game in reach on both sides of the ice . EBYC would come out on top in this one 4-3. As we have seen so many times this season, Charlie Daniels took control leading the scoring attack for the EBYC with 2 goals while John Lloyd and Kris Sullivan added the lone tallies. Dom DiMarzo, Dave Natola, and Dave Couldren took care of the scoring for Sound Decision.
Game 2 pitted two teams who emerged early on in the season as a rivalry and on this night lived up to it. The 113 Club and Urban Sun Tanning have done battle on 4 occasions now with Urban Sun taking the first 3, but not on this evening as The 113 Club came out of gates gunning for the victory. Right from the get go, Michael Burri made it very clear what his intentions were in this one as he buried 4 goals while Peter Hanlon buried 2 of his own. Young Gun Brendan Gahagan stepped up for a loner of his own to help The 113 Club earn their first victory of the year over UST 7-6. Jeff Delpidio and Steve Moccia had 2 dingers a piece for UST as Shawn Smith and Ralph Guarino had one goal a piece.
Game 3 saw Bill Ashes Lounge dismantle Yellow Taxi, in a game that saw the leagues #2 scorer Darrell Interbartolo abuse the Yellow Taxi defense for 6 goals and 4 assists. Interbartolo was not alone out there as Tony Silvestri kicked it into overdrive burying 3 goals of his own with 2 helpers to go along with it. Mike O’Brien and Ray Khan had the single tallies for Bill Ashe’s. Yellow Taxi was lead by Jim Leger who notched a pair of goals while Rob Pendola and Paul Monzione pitched in with the single goals.

Also, the East Boston Based Boston Massacre Men’s Hockey Club will be taking on the Red Legs of the Massachusetts Army National Guard on March 26th, 2011 at 4:30pm to benefit the Relay for Life of East Boston. All proceeds from this game will be donated to the Relay for Like of East Boston. We urge you all to take the time out of your busy schedule and come down to the Porazzo Rink and enjoy a great Saturday afternoon of hockey for a good cause. On Thursday March 10, 2011 the Boston Massacre depart for Chicago, IL where they will compete in a men’s hockey tourney for the Challenge Cup. We wish the Massacre the best of luck!
