Boston City Councilor Gabriela Coletta Marries Sebastian Zapata

Boston City Councilor Gabriela Coletta Zapata and Sebastian Zapata were married in a May ceremony at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers, Massachusetts.  The bride and groom were surrounded by their beloved family and closest friends including Gabriela’s parents, Edmund Coletta Jr. and Nanina Gaeta Coletta, and Sebastian’s father, Hernan Zapata. Gabriela’s sister, Angela Coletta Acevedo, was the Matron of Honor and Diego Huezo was Sebastian’s Best Man.

The ceremony was held in the Botanical Garden and officiated by Attorney General Andrea J. Campbell with readings from Gabriela’s brother, Christopher Coletta, and Sebastian’s Aunt Gloria Restrepo. The couple remembered loved ones there in spirit, including Sebastian’s late mother, Caridad Restrepo, late grandparents Ricardo Restrepo, Ana Delia Cadavid, Adriano Zapata and Laura Tobón and several members of Gabriela’s family including her late grandparents Alessandro Gaeta, Celia “Sally” Trujillo Gaeta, and Edmund Coletta Sr. A reception followed under a sailcloth tent where the guests dined, danced, and created enduring memories. The newlyweds were celebrated by all and enjoyed the festivities surrounded by those who shared their journey of love.

Gabriela and Sebastian met while both worked in Boston City Hall in the summer of 2018. The bride and groom were engaged at the top of the Custom Tower in downtown Boston in August 2022. They currently reside in East Boston where they intend to stay indefinitely to build their lives together and raise a family.
